New Year's Eve at Darwin Waterfront

The Darwin Waterfront is closing out another fantastic year in true Territory style with our annual New Year’s Eve concert and spectacular fireworks display to welcome 2026.


New Year's Eve at Darwin Waterfront is a free event, and no ticket is required.

  • General Event Information

    • Entry opens at 3pm, with entertainment commencing from 5pm
    • This event is free and no ticket is required
    • Entry is via Kitchener Drive, Darwin Convention Centre porte cachere, or Anchorage Court
    • Access to all restaurants remains open
    • No alcohol is permitted within the event area
    • Picnics are welcome, however food trucks will be available 
  • Parking & Public Transport

    Parking:

    • Parking is available across Darwin Waterfront and the CBD.
    • Multi-storey carpark: will remain open for the duration of the event, however will close once it is at capacity. 
    • Darwin Convention Centre underground carpark: Parking is available at the Darwin Convention Centre and is free of charge.
    • On-street parking: All on-street parking will be available. Please abide by parking signs and do not park on verges or footpaths. 
    • Stokes Hill Wharf: Carparking for Wharf patrons only.

    Disability Access & Parking

    • Pick up and drop off is available from Darwin Convention Centre or along Anchorage Court.

    • Can I pack a picnic or bring food into the event? Yes! You can bring a picnic, however no alcohol is permitted. Patrons are encouraged to bring a water bottle to re-fill at the Power and Water hydration stations throughout the event.  Food vendors will also be on-site providing delicious and affordable food options.  
    • Will I be able to purchase food and drink? Yes! Food trucks will be available on the night and will be located on Kitchener Drive. We encourage cashless transactions for this event.
    • Can I BYO? No. New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront is an alcohol-free event and no alcohol will be allowed within the public realm. Waterfront restaurants and bars will be open if you wish to consume alcohol within a licensed venue. 
    • Can I bring any seating? Yes! Picnic rugs and low lying seating is welcome. 
    • Can I bring my dog? No. We recommend leaving your furry friend at home.
    • Do I need a ticket? No. New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront is a free, public event.
    • What time are the firework displays? We have two firework displays, one at 9pm and another at midnight.
    • What happens if it rains? Pack a poncho, the event will proceed if it rains. There will be no undercover areas to retreat to. Make sure you’ve liked Darwin Waterfront on Facebook to stay up-to-date on any weather or event announcements. Should there be storm activity, the performance times may change. 
    • Can I smoke at this event? No. New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront is a smoke-free event.
