Darwin Festival – 42/45 Glenn Campbell Solo

Photojournalist Glenn Campbell has captured Darwin’s decaying World War II remnants in lucid black and white – evocative, historical images which record with great perception a country’s desperate response to threat, the passage of time and inevitable architectural decay.

In contemporary Darwin these once strong fortifications are lasting reminders of the pivotal role the city played in the nation’s security, when Darwin was undeniably Australia’s first – and hopefully last – front line.
